20+ Popcorn Recipes You MUST Try

May 1, by Shellie Wilson. Leave a Comment

Popcorn is a beloved snack that has been enjoyed for generations. It’s a great choice for movie nights, after-school snacks, or anytime you need a little something to munch on. The best part is that popcorn is naturally low in calories, making it an ideal snack option for those who are watching their waistlines. But, if you’re looking to take your popcorn game to the next level, dressing it up with your favorite seasonings and flavors is the way to go.

One of the best things about popcorn is that it’s a blank canvas, ready for you to add any flavor you desire. From sweet to savory, the possibilities are endless. Want something sweet and indulgent? Add some melted chocolate and caramel sauce to your popcorn. In the mood for something savory? Sprinkle some cheese and garlic powder over your popcorn. If you’re feeling bold, add some hot sauce for a spicy kick.

The great thing about popcorn is that it’s also versatile when it comes to seasoning. You can go with classic butter and salt or explore new flavors like chili lime, ranch, or even cinnamon sugar. With so many options, you’ll never get bored with popcorn as a snack.

Making seasoned popcorn at home is also easy and affordable. All you need is a bag of popcorn kernels, a little bit of oil, and your desired seasonings. You can pop the kernels in a pot on the stove or use a popcorn machine for added convenience.

If you’re not into experimenting to find your favorite taste combos, I’ve got you covered. Check out these 20 Sweet & Savory Popcorn Snacks that are seriously addicting and will help you take your movie night to the next level!

Here’s a recipe for homemade popcorn seasoning that you can customize to your liking:

Homemade Popcorn Seasoning

Ingredients:

1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
2 tablespoons melted butter or oil (optional)
Instructions:

In a small bowl, mix together the nutritional yeast, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).

If desired, melt the butter or oil and drizzle it over the popcorn. Toss to coat.

Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the popcorn, stirring gently to evenly distribute.

Taste and adjust seasoning as desired.

Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes:

This recipe makes enough seasoning for about 4-6 cups of popcorn. Adjust the amounts as needed for larger or smaller batches.
Feel free to customize the seasoning mix to your liking. You can add other spices like chili powder, cumin, or curry powder, or use different herbs like thyme or basil. The possibilities are endless!
