Multiple Sex in a Pan Recipes

June 26, 2015 by Carolyn Bickford

sex-in-pan
I didn’t come up with the name, but it sure looks good. The name of this layered dessert has been around since the 70’s which is pretty impressive if you ask me.   No doubt this dessert goes by a lot of other names too. I can’t see my Grandma having served up Sex in the pan at her parties that is for sure.

There are lots of different variations for this dessert but this has to be my favorite tried and tested (several times) recipe for sex in the pan.

It has a pecan crust and two different types of pudding and whip cream. I will make this just to see the reaction of my guests when I ask them, “If they have room for some sex in a pan.” I’m giggling and blushing just thinking about it. I’ll have the camera ready to catch those expressions.

Click here on Jo Cooks for the recipe and directions but read on for more ideas on how to make this dessert.

Sex in a pan is a layered dessert. The bottom layer is the crust made with pecans, flour and butter. It often reminds me of a Tiramasu cake which is also layered. The best thing about this recipe is it is very easy to make it in bulk to take to a party of event. Just use a large tray and guests can cut their slice of Sex in a pan to serve themselves.  Tray cakes or slices have often used at buffets for this very reason.

Sex in a Pan is a delicious dessert. This four-layer cake is the fastest, simplest, and most delicious dessert you’ve ever had. The famous dessert has been present since the 1970s and goes under several names. Sex in a pan is a three-tiered dessert. The bottom layer is a pecan, flour, and butter crust. Traditionally, it is cooked in a 13 by 9 by 2-inch pan, then chilled and served cold.

Here is my own personal version of the recipe that was given to me by my Aunt. I hope you like it too.

Quick Version of Sex in a Pan Layered Dessert Recipe (with a crust)

Ingredients:

1 box of instant chocolate pudding mix
1 box of instant vanilla pudding mix
1 can of whipped cream
1 package of cream cheese, softened
1 cup of powdered sugar
1 stick of unsalted butter, melted
1 cup of all-purpose flour
1 cup of chopped pecans
2 cups of milk
1 container of cool whip
1 package of Oreo cookies, crushed
Chocolate syrup for drizzling
Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F.

In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, flour, and chopped pecans. Mix well until a crumbly mixture forms.

Press the mixture onto the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Allow the crust to cool completely.

In another mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Add in 1 can of whipped cream and mix until well combined.

In a separate bowl, mix together the chocolate pudding mix and 1 cup of milk until smooth. Do the same with the vanilla pudding mix and another cup of milk.

Spread the cream cheese mixture onto the cooled crust evenly. Next, add a layer of crushed Oreos on top of the cream cheese mixture.

Pour the chocolate pudding mixture over the Oreo layer, spreading it out evenly. Then, add a layer of the cool whip on top.

Finally, pour the vanilla pudding mixture over the cool whip layer and spread it out evenly.

Drizzle the chocolate syrup on top of the vanilla pudding layer.

Chill the dessert in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.

Enjoy your quick and delicious version of Sex in a Pan layered dessert!
