It’s here!! It’s here!! Some people anxiously await their newspaper for things like important news, election results, or the weather. I anxiously await the results of the yearly Peeps Show contest from my local paper, The Washington Post. The contest challenges readers in the DC area (anyone across the country can submit, but the finalists must be local, and no, I’ve not yet been brave enough to enter) to create a diorama of any relevant social, political, cultural work where all the characters are Peeps. The results are always stunning. CLICK HERE to see this year’s finalists.  Shown is the winner, “Chilean CoPeepapo Mine Rescue,” by Mary Jo Ondrejka, Bryn Metzdorf, and Margaret Hartka, “The Mupeep Show,” by Kathy Fraeman, and “Cherry Blossom Peeps,” by Katie Behr-Szustakowski and Alexandra Sandlin (a traditional DC scene around the tidal basin and Jefferson Memorial).
