cake
Previously, I brought you cute sandwiches diguised as cakes and now Japan have salads that look like cakes. The cakes are beautiful compared to a bowl of lettuce. Maybe this is what I need to do to eat more vegetables. A slice of cake for lunch sounds so much better than a bowl of salad.

December 31, 2015 by Carolyn Bickford

New Year's Eve Champagne salad
This is a salad that can be used at any celebration besides New Year’s Eve. I have to run to the store today and will be in search of champagne vinegar, that I never knew existed. Maybe this will liven up my lunch salads, since I’m bored with my usual dressings. Great addition with other appetizers to a bridal … Read More ...

I’m in total agreement with Garfield the cat, that you can never have too much lasagna. Finally a lasagna to please everyone. This is meatless and no vegetables. For me it is all about the cheese, sauce, and noodles with a big side salad. This will be perfect for a brunch, potluck or picky teens at a team dinner.

Apple-Cranberry-Chicken-Salad
One of my favorite sandwiches is chicken salad. I always look for it when we go to sandwich shops, but sometimes I’m very disappointed in the chicken salad. Usually too much mayo. I’ve had chicken salad with walnuts and cranberries and grapes, but never apples. I’ll have to give this a try. This is a vegetarian version, but you could … Read More ...

September 17, 2015 by Carolyn Bickford

nutella crepe cake
I found and posted a 25 layer cream and crepe cake that looked heavenly. Now I have found it’s sinful counterpart using Nutella. Sorry fruit tart, you may not be the star of my birthday anymore. Who needs pancakes for breakfast, when you could eat this yummy goodness. I would gravitate to this on the brunch table. I’ll even be … Read More ...

Southwest Chicken Taquitos

September 6, 2015 by Carolyn Bickford

southwest chicken taquitas
It amazes me how busy we get when school gets going. We were busy before, but school seems to add a new level with sports, extra curricular activities and the homework. I admit there are days, I just go to the store and get a rotisserie chicken and make a salad. I’m big on the semi-homemade movement. The rotisserie chicken … Read More ...

Spinach and Mint Pesto

September 5, 2015 by Carolyn Bickford

spinach and mint pesto
I love pesto. I put it on pasta, salads and use it as a spread on some bread for a quick bite. I always do the typical basil, pine nuts, oil and cheese. If you read my articles, you know I’m not one that likes to go outside the norm. I think I might give this a try.

Colors of the Rainbow Salad

July 18, 2015 by Carolyn Bickford

colors of the rainbow salad
This salad is beautiful! I can see why Foodies like to photograph their foods. This is like a masterpiece. Okay, now on to the fact that it is healthy and made from fresh fruits, flowers and items from the garden.
