This recipe is for quick wonton soup. The only time consuming part is the wonton making. There are two options to this. One, by store bought ones and make your own clear soup or Two, make your own wontons and freeze them in advance. In about 60 minutes I can make around 50-100 wontons. I am even faster than that if the kids want to help me. Then I simply pop them on baking paper, freeze them individually and then once frozen I transfer them to bags and pop them back in the freezer. These are great fried in butter for Lunches too.

The word soup comes from French soupe (“soup”, “broth”), which comes through Vulgar Latin suppa (“bread soaked in broth”). The earliest soup dates back to 20,000 BC. Watery gruel is the likeliest origin of soup but there is no gruel or hardship in the yummy soup above.
