Make a balloon bouquet with jelly beans, skewers and licorice lace HERE at the Food Network.
UPDATE: Check out the comment below and the comments on this project at Food Network. Apparently the picture perfect image doesn’t quite match the task of sliding jelly beans on a skewer…

This is an absolutely horrible, horrible project. Cute as it may look, it doesn’t come out as wonderful and adorable as the picture… There were a few comments on the food network site but I didn’t take them to heart. I bought the supplies to make these and failed on 3 or 4 different attempts, changing the size/type of jelly bean and skewer.. even tried to pre-“drill” a hole using a coffee stir stick.

I didn’t either and would have tried it too. Good to know! Thanks for letting us know the difficulty. I’ll add an update.

The jelly beans appears to be attached to the skewers maybe by glue. It’s a little misleading. But when the picture is enlarged it sure looks like the jelly beans are sitting on the sticks. Maybe they couldn’t do it by threading at the Food Network either.
