The Teddy Bear Picnic

July 6, 2016 by Carolyn Bickford

the teddy bear picnic photo credit: Geeks Who Eat

This isn’t your child’s teddy bear picnic. It is a picnic that you and your friends can enjoy after the day at your child’s picnic. A fun beverage for the adults to enjoy at a barbecue or cocktail with friends. Just be careful mentioning it around your little ones, because they might think you are going to a teddy bear picnic without them. Then you’ll really need a drink! As always drink responsibly!

Click here on Geeks Who Eat for the recipe and directions.

Thanks for sharing our recipe! It’s one of my all time favorite drinks now!

10 Ice Cubes That Instantly Elevate Prosecco

One for every colour and flavour palette — simple, beautiful, and guaranteed to impress.

There’s something magical about Prosecco. It’s the drink you can pull out for birthdays, brunches, Friday nights, or “I survived another week with the family” celebrations. And if you’ve ever wished your glass looked a little fancier without the faff, flavoured ice cubes are about to become your new best friend.

They take minutes to prep, you can freeze them weeks ahead, and honestly — they make even the cheapest bottle sparkle like something handed to you by a waiter named Luca on the Amalfi Coast.
(We can dream.)

Here are 10 gorgeous, fuss-free Prosecco ice cubes — all colour-themed, flavour-themed, and perfect for those who love a drink that looks as good as it tastes.

1. Peach Bellini Cubes (Soft Peach + Gold)

Per cube:
• 1 slice peach (fresh or tinned)
• A pinch of edible gold dust
• Fill with peach nectar

What it does:
Instant Bellini vibes without blending a thing.

2. Pink Raspberry Rosé Cubes (Blush Pink)

Per cube:
• 2 raspberries
• 1 rose petal (edible)
• Fill with water

What it does:
Gives Prosecco a soft pink glow and a romantic finish.

3. Lemon Zest Sparkle Cubes (Bright Yellow)

Per cube:
• A curl of lemon zest
• 1 small lemon segment
• Fill with sparkling water

What it does:
Turns Prosecco into a zesty brunch spritz.

4. Blueberry Citrus Burst Cubes (Deep Indigo + Yellow)

Per cube:
• 3 blueberries
• 1 tiny piece of orange peel
• Fill with water

What it does:
Adds colour contrast and a bright citrus pop.

5. Grapefruit Mint Cooler Cubes (Coral Pink + Green)

Per cube:
• 1 grapefruit wedge
• 1 mint leaf
• Fill with water

What it does:
Softens the Prosecco with a refreshing twist.

6. Pomegranate Rosemary Jewels (Ruby Red + Forest Green)

Per cube:
• 1 tsp pomegranate seeds
• 1 rosemary sprig tip
• Fill with water

What it does:
Looks like a mini Christmas decoration floating in your glass.

7. Mango + Basil Sunshine Cubes (Golden Yellow + Green)

Per cube:
• 1 mango cube
• 1 basil leaf
• Fill with water

What it does:
Adds a juicy tropical lift — great in summer.

8. Lavender + Lemon Serenity Cubes (Pastel Purple)

Per cube:
• Pinch of culinary lavender
• 1 piece lemon peel
• Fill with water

What it does:
Smells like a spa and tastes like a holiday.

9. Strawberry Hibiscus Cubes (Vibrant Pink)

Per cube:
• 1–2 strawberry slices
• A pinch of dried hibiscus
• Fill with cooled hibiscus tea

What it does:
Adds colour, flavour, and a gentle floral tartness.

10. Blackberry Elderflower Cubes (Deep Purple + Soft White)

Per cube:
• 2 blackberries
• ½ tsp elderflower cordial
• Fill with water

What it does:
Makes Prosecco taste like a cocktail you’d pay $18 for.

Hosting Hack: The Prosecco Cube Bar

If you want to look incredibly organised with zero effort:

Freeze one tray of each cube, line them up in little bowls on a platter, and let guests “build” their own glass. Everyone gets a personalised drink, you get to stay out of the kitchen, and suddenly you’re that host — the one who thinks of everything.
