Our basic and quick Sugar Cookie Recipe is perfect for rolled out cookie-cutter cookies, I have been using this recipe for years and it is my go-to recipe for Cookie cutters cookies.
CraftGossip Sugar Cookie Recipe
1 Cup unsalted butter
1 Cup granulated white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 cups all purpose flour
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350° F.
cream butter and sugar until smooth and light in color
Beat in the extract and egg.
Add the remaining ingredients.
The dough will be stiff and you will need to knead it like a bread dough until in comes together.
Divide into workable batches, roll out onto a floured surface and cut in to rounds 1/4 inch thick.
Bake at 350 for 6-8 minutes. Let cool on the cookie sheet until firm enough to transfer to a cooling rack.
