This hot chocolate recipe is for your slower cooker. This is one of the best hot chocolate recipes I have made and I love the cardamon touch. Gives it a special little chai taste. The recipe was finished off with a crazy shake style cup. This is optional but very easy to do. We made gingerbread men to top it off.
Ingredients.
1 tablespoon good quality cocoa powder
1/3 cup hot water
4 ounces chopped bittersweet chocolate
1/2 can (7 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1 stick cinnamon or extra 1/2 teaspoon of powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
pinch of nutmeg powder
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder (optional)
1/4 teaspoon of cardamon powder (optional)
4 cups of whole milk
Mix the hot water and cocoa powder in a separate bowl to form a non lumpy syrup. Then add into the slow cooker the remaining items.
Heat on low for 2 hours, stirring after 30 minutes. I would check on it every 25 mins to make sure it’s not sticking to the bottom.
Server in a mug.
We dipped our mug in Caramel and rolled it in to crushed biscuit crumbs. We added a homemade Gingerbread man to the top.
