This classic homemade candy is not only yummy, it’s a great first science project for the kids.
This brings waves of nostalgia for me. I remember there being a little shop in one of my city’s tourist destinations that I always had to stop to get my favourite mint-flavoured rock candy as a kid, and then in middle school I decided to do a project on rock candy and I had to present it in our science fair. I gave out samples of rock candy to all the fair attendees, and it was just so fun.
Use these as party favors, educational purposes or I’ve even seen people start candy-making businesses with these. Each flavour can be tested and made and be completely exclusive to you.
I always thought of candy as a foreign concept, but it really is so simple to make; not much to it. You just need a little patience to let those crystals grow.
Make it in any colour and basically any flavour you can think of.
