It doesn’t matter when you make it, it is all about the fun and time spent together. Here are some suggestions from Nuts.com if you want to buy supplies for this years or ideas and … Read More ...

As mentioned before, I love the movie “Elf” and we watch it every year on Christmas Eve. I cringe every time he takes that big bite of spaghetti with the maple syrup added. I’m not sure this one is any better, but it could be fun for the kids. They can enjoy the same meal as Santa’s elves on Christmas … Read More ...

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. I have a lot to do today and tomorrow morning! I’m blaming the weather! It is the first time in a very long time that we will have 50 degrees and a green Christmas. I am looking forward to the evening traditions of eating pizza and watching the Grinch and Elf before heading to bed. We … Read More ...

Fudge even the lactose intolerant can enjoy. There is nothing worse, than having to say no to a child or adult at the sweets table. The recipe uses almond milk, butter alternative and cocoa powder. I’m not sure you would be able to tell the difference. I might have to give it a try, sounds less fattening too.

Did you know you could use your Christmas tree as an herbal drink or a disinfectant? Apparently, if you get a pine or cedar tree you can. We don’t have a real tree, but we do have a wreath made of pine. I’ll have to bring it indoors after the holiday season. I have a new appreciation for the pine … Read More ...

Being close to Canada, we had friends that always made us pork pies during the holiday season. It was the best comfort food during the long cold winters. My Mom has tried making it, but it just doesn’t taste the same. I’m hoping this recipe will bring me back to my childhood. The only difference would be, we ate it … Read More ...

I love trifles! They are easy to make and yet so elegant looking. You can make them in a big clear bowl for everyone to help themselves to or create individual servings as pictured. A quick dessert that can also be made with cake or cookies. Or you could make a healthier version using fruit and yoghurt.

Since I don’t like onions, I’m not a fan of the bloomin’ onion, but I’m willing to try this baked potato. I might make this with a side salad or a big bowl of soup or chili. Great item to have for the football parties or any party.

I don’t know about you, but I always seem to forget someone or get a gift unexpectedly and feel guilty. These two gifts can solve your problem. Seems everyone enjoys chocolate dipped pretzels and you can’t go wrong with s’mores. The supplies can also be kept on hand for unexpected guests or holiday snacks for the movie or sleepovers.

Here is a healthy and light breakfast for the kids Christmas morning. When you have a hard time to get the kids to leave their new toys to eat breakfast, this would be helpful. They can still play and drink at the same time. Or save it for the ride to the next relatives house, so they can have as … Read More ...

I love looking at Bento lunch boxes. So cute and creative, but mostly healthy. I am amazed at the creativity and how well the Bento box can be used in so many different ways. Such as making the holidays fun for the kids as they wait for the holiday vacation to begin.

With the holidays, there are a lot of sweets to eat. As much as we want the kids to indulge, we also want to make sure they get an occasional healthy snack. It’s bad enough being flu season, we don’t want a sick kid because they ate one too many cookies or candy cane. This would work for a … Read More ...
