I’m loving this olive penguin and cheese snowman from Peas Love Carrots, especially since the instructions on how to make them (easily) are so well done. Find the how-tos HERE.
And a side kudos to the blogger for pointing out that she got the penguin idea from the web and would happily credit the original creator of this popular appetizer if found. (As one who has had her melty snowman cookie not only mimicked without credit all over the web but a photo actually stolen from my blog and entered in a contest, I so appreciate this.) And on another side note, I did see these last year HERE at Once Upon a Plate, though I have no idea if the penguins predate that post.

I made some olive penguins a few years ago http://thefeltmouse.blogspot.com/2007/01/penguin-awareness-day-2007.html, but doubt I was anybody’s inspiration – har har.
I found the idea on allrecipes, http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Cream-Cheese-Penguins/Detail.aspx

Hi Meaghan!
Thanks for the re-posting from my site! 🙂
I’ve also seen the Once Upon a Plate version as I was searching for the creator of these. Over there she says she’d seen them on a Turkish website, I believe, and there my trail went cold :-/
Maybe someday we’ll answer the mystery 😉
