Are you a smoothie addict who can’t get enough? Are you looking for more smoothie recipes? Check out these smoothie recipe cookbooks and don’t forget your smoothie friendly re-useable straws. If you don’t have a smoothie maker already then I suggest a Ninja blender, we love our and use it most days in the kitchen.

This Green Monster Margarita Smoothie with Chia Seeds is the perfect blend of healthy and indulgent. Packed with greens, fruit, and energizing chia seeds, this vibrant smoothie still delivers a refreshing margarita-style kick. It’s ideal for summer afternoons, brunch with friends, or a lighter happy hour treat when you want something fun without the guilt.

 Ingredients

For the smoothie:

  • 1 cup fresh spinach (packed)

  • 1 ripe banana

  • ½ cup frozen mango or pineapple chunks

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • ½ cup coconut water or almond milk

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  • 1–2 teaspoons honey or agave syrup (optional, to taste)

  • ½ cup ice cubes

Optional margarita addition:

  • 1–1½ shots tequila

  • Splash of orange liqueur (optional)

For serving (optional but recommended):

  • Lime wedge

  • Salt or sugar for rimming the glass

 Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass (optional):
Run a lime wedge around the rim of a margarita glass and dip it into salt or sugar. Set aside.

  2. Blend the smoothie:
Add spinach, banana, frozen fruit, lime juice, coconut water (or almond milk), chia seeds, sweetener, and ice to a blender.

  3. Add alcohol (optional):
If making this a margarita smoothie, add tequila and orange liqueur to the blender.

  4. Blend until smooth:
Blend on high until creamy and fully combined. If the mixture is too thick, add a little more liquid and blend again.

  5. Serve:
Pour into the prepared glass, garnish with a lime wedge, and enjoy immediately.

 Tips & Variations

  • For a non-alcoholic version, simply skip the tequila for a nutrient-packed green smoothie.

  • Let the smoothie sit for 3–5 minutes if you want the chia seeds to thicken slightly.

  • Swap mango for pineapple or kiwi for a different flavor twist.
