Butterfinger Dessert Cocktail – A Boozy Candy Bar in a Glass

March 2, 2026 by Shellie Wilson

Some people like their cocktails shaken and sophisticated, others like them fruity and fresh. Me? Give me a dessert cocktail that tastes like a candy bar, and I’m in heaven. This Butterfinger Dessert Cocktail is exactly that—a creamy, peanut-buttery, chocolatey, boozy concoction that tastes just like a Butterfinger bar in liquid form.

It’s a little naughty, a little nostalgic, and a whole lot of fun. And yes, it’s sweet—like, “skip dessert because your cocktail is dessert” sweet. If you’ve ever had one of those days where you just want to sip your stress away with something decadent, this drink was made for you.

Why You’ll Love This Cocktail

  • It’s basically liquid candy – think Butterfinger in a boozy milkshake form.

  • No fancy bartender skills required – just blend and pour.

  • Perfect for parties – guaranteed to get people asking for the recipe.

  • Customisable – tweak it to suit your sweetness or add ice cream for a boozy shake.

Ingredients (makes 2 cocktails)

  • 60ml (2 oz) Baileys Irish Cream (or your favourite cream liqueur)

  • 60ml (2 oz) Kahlúa (coffee liqueur)

  • 30ml (1 oz) Butterscotch schnapps

  • 30ml (1 oz) Frangelico (hazelnut liqueur)

  • 1 tbsp creamy peanut butter

  • ½ cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)

  • 2 Butterfinger bars (1 crushed for garnish, 1 cut for decoration)

  • Ice cubes

  • Chocolate syrup (for decorating the glasses)

Step-by-Step Method

Step 1 – Dress your glasses
Grab two martini or stemmed dessert glasses. Drizzle chocolate syrup along the inside rim so it drips down for that extra indulgent look. Place the glasses in the fridge to chill while you prep.

Step 2 – Blend the cocktail
In a blender, combine Baileys, Kahlúa, Butterscotch schnapps, Frangelico, peanut butter, cream, and a handful of ice cubes. Blend until smooth, creamy, and frothy.

Step 3 – Pour and garnish
Pour evenly into your prepared glasses. Sprinkle crushed Butterfinger pieces generously over the top. For extra wow factor, perch a mini or half bar of Butterfinger on the rim or slide a chunk onto a cocktail skewer.

Step 4 – Serve immediately
This cocktail is rich, creamy, and best enjoyed straight away—no waiting, no fuss.

Variations to Try

  • Boozy Milkshake – add a scoop of vanilla ice cream before blending for a thick, milkshake-style cocktail.

  • Extra Caramel Swirl – drizzle caramel sauce along with the chocolate for a caramel lover’s dream.

  • Nut-Free Version – swap peanut butter for cookie butter, Biscoff spread, or caramel spread.

  • Frozen Butterfinger Cocktail – blend with more ice for a slushy summer version.

When to Serve It

This Butterfinger Dessert Cocktail is best saved for those fun occasions when you want to spoil yourself or impress your friends. It’s a brilliant choice for:

  • A girls’ night in with movies and snacks.

  • Holiday parties where a boozy dessert is the star.

  • Birthdays and celebrations (because who doesn’t want their favourite candy in drink form?).

  • A cheeky Friday night “I survived the week” indulgence.

Sometimes you just need a drink that feels like a hug in a glass. This Butterfinger Dessert Cocktail is sweet, boozy, nostalgic, and utterly addictive. It’s the kind of recipe you’ll keep coming back to when you want something fun and over-the-top.

So next time you grab a bag of Butterfinger minis and feel tempted to eat half the bag in one sitting, save a few to blend into this cocktail. Trust me—this drink is worth it.
