Is it an appetizer? Is it a cocktail? I love these margarita bites from Let’s Entertain. Find the recipe here.
There’s something wonderfully mischievous about a cocktail you can bite into, isn’t there? I still remember the first time I served nibble-friendly margaritas at a girls’ night — half the table leaned in with curiosity, the other half grabbed one before I could even explain what they were. That’s the fun of a margarita bite. It’s playful, it’s grown-up, and it brings a little holiday-happy energy to any gathering without anyone having to hover over a shaker.
These bite-sized margarita treats pack all the citrusy zing and tequila-kissed flavour of the classic cocktail, just wrapped up in a cheeky edible form. They’re perfect for spring parties, Cinco de Mayo get-togethers, backyard barbecues, or those casual nights where you just want something a little different to pop onto the nibble platter. And because they’re portable, you can serve them as a dessert bite, a cocktail alternative, or something fun to pass around while the real margaritas are still chilling.
What I love most is how easy they are to make ahead — a little mixing, a little chilling, and suddenly you’ve got a tray of bright, refreshing margarita bites that guarantee a smile. They fit right into that sweet spot we all love: simple ingredients, a splash of creativity, and a whole lot of flavour. Whether you’re hosting or heading out, these citrusy little gems bring instant party magic.

Is there a substitute for cool whip? We don’t have the in Australia.
Cool Whip is such a food mystery, probably hard to recreate! (I usually use real whipped cream, but given the science of Jell-O, not sure if that’d work). Here’s a link to other people’s ideas on how to substitute… though if anyone else knows the answer, feel free to comment!
