Check out The Pickled Herring between December 13 and 23rd for Scandinavian Christmas inspiration and projects from guest bloggers. Today’s feature is Danish Pancake Balls, or Aebleskiver, by one of my favorite bloggers, Roots and Wings Co. Find a recipe for cardamom bread for St. Lucia day HERE from Coffee…Photos…and Chocolate (yay for that combination).
And even though it’s not related to edibles, I need to share day 2: A tutorial for a Tomte ornament created by Gingerbread Snowflakes. Why must I share? Because I was so enchanted by this post at Gingerbread Snowflakes on a vintage Better Homes and Gardens magazine spread, I remember it two years later. (See? I posted here.) See the little marshmallow men? See the Tomte ornament? As soon as I spotted the name Gingerbread Snowflakes, I went right back to this little guy.

I have been MIA for a bit and just now coming late to join in all that happened during the second half of December!
Thank you so, so much for the mention and the links to my marshmallow men and to the felt
Tomte/Nisse! Diane and I have saved our edible versions but after a season or two they don’t look so good! I thought making them in felt would prolong the shelf life!!
LOVED the Scandinavian Christmas series on the Pickled Herring! And I am going to bug her frequently to do it again next year!
