Weekend craft for the kids

April 20, by Andi. Leave a Comment

This one isn’t kid friendly in the making, as it involves using boiling water, but they do love the end result. Jelly (or Jell-O) is an easy dessert for you to make, and children love to eat it.

We have some great frog jelly moulds and the girls love eating frogs. If you don’t have any moulds you can make it in glasses or another fun way for them to eat it is to use segments of oranges. Eat the fruit, and set the jelly in the rinds.

All you need to do is dissolve the jelly powder in the boiling water, according to instructions on the box. If you decide to make it using fruit rinds, take your orange, cut in half, scrape all the fruit out carefully. Pour the jelly in and leave to set, once set, cut into segments.

For more fun you can add mini marshmallows to the jelly, or small gummy candy. You can even put a toy insect (wash well first) into your jelly for a fun surprise.
