Perfect Football Game Day Hot Dogs

January 13, 2018 by Shellie Wilson

Game Day Hot Dogs are a classic game-time food that never goes out of style. Whether you’re hosting a casual get-together with friends or feeding a team of football players, hot dogs are always a crowd-pleaser. With the right toppings and condiments, hot dogs can be elevated from a simple snack to a delicious and satisfying meal.

When it comes to Game Day Hot Dogs, the possibilities are endless. You can start with a classic all-beef hot dog, or try something a little different, like a spicy sausage or a veggie dog. The toppings are where you can get creative. Load up your hot dog with chili, cheese, onions, ketchup, mustard, relish, and more. You can even make a toppings bar, so everyone can build their own hot dog to their liking.

For those who want to take their Game Day Hot Dogs to the next level, you can try experimenting with unique and creative toppings. Some ideas include pulled pork, coleslaw, bacon, jalapenos, avocado, and even mac and cheese. You can also play with the buns, using pretzel buns, brioche buns, or even wrapping the hot dog in bacon. The options are endless, so feel free to get creative and have fun with it.

In addition to being delicious, Game Day Hot Dogs are also incredibly convenient. They are quick and easy to make, which makes them the perfect party food. You can grill them up on the BBQ or cook them on the stove, and they are ready to eat in no time. This means you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying the game and the company of your friends and family.

Hot dogs are a classic American staple, but why settle for just a plain old hot dog when you can upgrade it with a delicious and spicy chili hot dog sauce? This sauce is easy to make, full of flavor, and will take your hot dog game to the next level.

Ingredients:

1 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 can of tomato sauce (8 oz)
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste
Hot dogs and buns, for serving
Instructions:

In a large pan, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess grease.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Toast the buns and place the hot dogs on the buns. Spoon the chilli hot dog sauce over the hot dogs.

Serve the chilli hot dogs with your favorite toppings, such as shredded cheese, diced onions, pickles, or mustard.
