Somehow, someway, I’ve never really explored the world of pancake decorating, despite sharing more than a few pancake masterpieces here over the years. I guess I’ve always been content with keeping pancakes as simple, delicious staples—until recently. That all changed when Rachel from Rachel Cooks invited me to join her Pancake Party. For those who aren’t familiar, Rachel is hosting a fun, month-long event where she features a different blogger each day, showcasing their unique pancake creations. It sounded like the perfect opportunity to step out of my pancake comfort zone and finally give decorating a try.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect it to be as much fun as it turned out to be. I dove in, and while I certainly have a loooooooooooooooong way to go before I reach pancake-decorating mastery, I was surprised at how easy it was to create something playful and cute. For my contribution, I decided to go with a fun, nature-inspired theme—bugs and flowers—and had a blast bringing them to life on the griddle. If you’re looking for a simple, creative way to level up your pancake game, this is it! You can find the full how-to for making these adorable bug and flower pancakes over at Rachel Cooks. Trust me, once you give it a try, you’ll be hooked, and who knows? You might just become a pancake artist yourself.
