Owl Cupcakes (What a Hoot!)

October 28, by Meaghan Mountford. Leave a Comment

OK, groan at the whatta hoot part, but not the cupcake part. So cute and clever and easy to make–with Oreos and M & Ms. The instructions are courtesy of “Ezra Pound Cake,” a wonderful foodie site by a pastry chef/writer. Of course, she had me at her site name (as a fellow lit masters gal, I appreciate the reference). Those eyes! If they didn’t look so ridiculously yummy, they almost have too much personality to eat.

Did you know that pound cake is a type of cake traditionally made with a pound of each of four ingredients: flour, butter, eggs, and sugar.

Pound cakes are generally baked in either a loaf pan or a Bundt mold, and served either dusted with powdered sugar, lightly glazed, or sometimes with a coat of icing
