Trying to define “edible crafts” is part of the fun of this job. But it’s tricky. I often opt for foods that are manipulated to look like other things, foods made for gifts or with clever packaging, unique kitchen tools, foods made from an artistic hand and of course pretty much anything on a stick. But the downfall of such restrictions means lots of yummy, straightforward recipes just don’t make the cut. While I can’t deny the is a skill and artistry need for all kinds of cooking, such recipes just didn’t fall under the umbrella of crafts. So to give them a place, I’m giving them a space here. On Tuesdays. And I’ll even try and create actual meals from these recipe finds.
Some notes: First, please feel free to weigh in on the what-defines-edible-crafts question. It’s still elusive, even to me. And second, if you have any yummy recipes you’d like to share or to submit for consideration here, send them to me at ediblecrafts.craftgossip.com or use the Send Us Gossip feature above.
Bon Appetit!

I usually think of edible crafts as “cute food”! 🙂 I’m glad you have a blog devoted to it:)

Great idea to include recipe’s… but I do think that in order to fit in on edible crafts the food should have some esthetic quality.
But I fully trust you for that 🙂
