With those unexpected guests, you have to think on the fly. Usually, food isn’t the issue as much as drinks. Besides a wine for dinner, you might want to serve a cocktail while dinner is cooking. Who knew you could use jam to get out of that predicament. Go to the fridge and find your best jam without preservatives or additives, add it to some gin and lemon, and you have a jam cocktail. I guess we better stock the pantry with some gin and good jam.
