Christmas Grinch Vanilla Milkshake Ninja Slushie

December 2, 2025 by Shellie Wilson

A Fun, Festive Frozen Drink Kids Go Crazy For

Every Christmas season needs at least one silly, over-the-top treat — something a little cheeky, a little fun, and guaranteed to make the kids squeal when they see it. That’s exactly what this Grinch Vanilla Milkshake Ninja Slushie is.

It’s cold, creamy, bright green and full of that mischievous Christmas energy. And because it’s made in the Ninja Slushie Maker, you don’t need tubs of ice cream, blenders, or anything complicated. You simply mix the liquid, chill it, pour it in, and let the machine turn it into a thick, icy milkshake-style slush.

Perfect for Christmas movie nights, Christmas Eve treats, school holiday fun, or a bright green breakfast surprise for kids who wake up way too early on the big day.

I have to give a shout out to my all time favorite slushie cup these Margarita double wall tumblers are perfect for all cocktail types. I was gifted a pair of these for Christmas and I am in Love and use mine every slushie mix!

You can use a outline of a grinch and a marker pen to deisgn your own grinch cups, simply place the printed image inside the cup and trace the outline onto the outside of the cup. Use a Sharpie marker.

Why This Grinch Milkshake Works So Well

There’s something magical about this drink. Maybe it’s the colour, maybe it’s the sweetness, maybe it’s the fact that it feels like dessert but takes barely five minutes to make.

A few reasons it’s become a Christmas favourite:

  • The Ninja Slushie Maker gives the perfect thick, frosty texture — no ice needed
  • You get all the creaminess of a milkshake without melting or watering down
  • You can customise the green colour as bold or subtle as you like
  • It works beautifully for both kids and adults
  • It’s festive without being fussy
  • You can make the base ahead and simply pour-and-slush when ready

Honestly, it’s the kind of recipe that makes you feel like the Fun Mum without any of the work.

Ingredients

(Serves 2–3 generous glasses)

  • 2 cups whole milk, chilled
  • 1 cup half-and-half or thickened cream
  • 2–3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1–2 drops green food colouring (gel works best for a true Grinch green)
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon vanilla pudding mix or milk powder for extra creaminess
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, green sprinkles, or a little red heart candy

How to Make a Grinch Milkshake in the Ninja Slushie Maker

1. Mix the Base

Whisk together the milk, half-and-half, sugar and vanilla.
Add one drop of green food colouring at a time until you reach that perfect Grinch shade — bright but not neon, cheeky but still drinkable.

If you’re using pudding mix or milk powder, stir it in now. It thickens the final texture beautifully.

2. Chill the Mixture

Pop it into the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
This step matters — the colder your base is, the thicker and creamier your final slush will be.

If you’re prepping ahead, make the mixture the night before and store it in a jug.

3. Slush It

Pour the chilled mixture into the Ninja Slushie Maker.
Run the milkshake or slush setting until your milkshake thickens into that beautiful icy, spoonable texture.

4. Serve Immediately

Pour or spoon into glasses.
Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of green sugar, or add a little red heart candy if you want to lean fully into the Grinch theme.

Grinchy Extras (Optional but Fun)

  • Swirl chocolate syrup inside the glass before pouring
  • Dip the rim in green sanding sugar
  • Add mini marshmallows on top
  • Serve with a candy cane for a Christmas twist
  • Add a drop of peppermint extract for a minty version
  • For adults, add a splash of vanilla vodka or Baileys (cheeky but delicious)

Make-Ahead Tip

Mix the base the night before Christmas and keep it chilled in the fridge.
In the morning — or whenever the kids beg for something fun — simply pour into the Ninja and blend.
It’s the easiest “WOW” moment you’ll deliver all holiday season.
