Christmas dinner is a time for family, friends and loved ones to come together and celebrate. For many, it is also a time to overindulge in rich, delicious food. This year, why not help out your Christmas dinner host by bringing a healthy, hearty salad to the table? Not only will you be providing a much-needed dose of veggies, but you’ll also be lightening the load for your host.

When it comes to Christmas dinner, my family is always large and always hungry. In years past, I’ve seen our host start to stress as the night goes on and the food starts to dwindle. This year, I decided to take matters into my own hands and help out by bringing a salad.

The look on my host’s face when I walked in with the salad was one of relief, mixed with a touch of surprise. I could tell that she was touched that I had thought of her and wanted to help make her job a little easier. The salad was a hit with the entire family, and we all went home feeling a little bit lighter – in both body and spirit.

So this year, if you’re looking for a way to help out your Christmas dinner host, consider bringing a salad to the table. It’s a simple act of kindness that will be appreciated long after the last dish is cleared.
