There is an infinite source of material for a Handmade Christmas Day post in the world of edible crafts. Just about any fun food can be packaged as a gift. And so, I searched for sites that included just that… packaging. Martha has a couple features with great edible gift ideas and equally great packaging ideas, including detailed instructions and downloadable templates. She has a photo slide show of 16 edible gifts, including spice rubs, drink mixers, olives, fudge, mulling sachets, quick breads and cookies. The image above shows her candy cane marshmallows. She also provides recipes and even the clip-art for her “Classic Confections“, such as Neapolitan Coconut Strips, Pecan Clusters and Lemony Almond Nougat.

These are very cool (and pretty) ideas. We just make homemade vanilla extract and vanilla sugar. Check out our step by step instructions: http://marxfood.com/how-to-make-vanilla-extract/

What great ideas. I will have lots of fun trying these out with my grandaughter as I will be looking after her now that schools out.
