UPDATE: We have a winner!! Congratulations to Lorraine!! Her comment number 204 was randomly chosen to win Cookies.
Light and delicate, soft and chewy, crumbly and sandy…. I love that Martha Stewart’s Cookies is divided by texture. A clever way to organize over 175 cookie recipes from the Martha Stewart Living editors. Each recipe is accompanied by a ridiculously gorgeous close-up photo that lets you drool over every single morsel, but also serves as a guide for what-the-result-should-be, especially handy for such cookies as gingerbread snowflakes with piped royal icing and chocolate ginger leaves and acorns with details carved by a paring knife. In addition to the above, chapters include rich and dense, chunky and nutty, crisp and crunchy, and cakey and tender. Sure you’ll find chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, snickerdoodles, classic shortbread, madeleines and peanut butter cookies. But you’ll also find candy-cane stripe cookie sticks, brandy snaps, cream cheese pinwheels, ice box spirals, turtle brownies, chocolate waffles, homemade graham crackers, even springerle. And the book wouldn’t be complete without chapters on tools and techniques and tips for packaging and giving cookies. Given my life’s purpose (see here), I am especially smitten with this book and thrilled to add it to my collection.
And here’s hoping to add it to your collection…
