One perk of this gig is getting cool crafts and foodie things in the mail. I was especially thrilled to get an amazing package of awesomeness from EK Success Brands®. Want to see what was in it? Yeah, this long-time Martha Stewart fan is especially excited by the 24-pack of the best glitter ever. I couldn’t hide my glee at getting it for free (sad rhyme is purposeful). This is what I made with just the glitter, and I haven’t even gotten to the rest of the box yet. To make these glittery mason jars with sparkle cookies, I just painted the lids of mason jars with Martha’s Craft Glue, then coated with glitter and let dry fully, shaking off the excess. Then I cut out little circle cookies, piped and filled a circle of icing on top and immediately coated with a coordinating color of sprinkles. My name is Zoe and I run a club at my university that goes into an elementary school every week to teach the arts to kids ages 3 to 13! We are not a funded program, but we make some pretty awesome crafts! I love the ideas presented and want to make a Holiday themed week, to celebrate such a great time of year. I don’t use glitter enough.
Last year My daughter and I bought dollar store ornaments and re glittered them with the MS collection of super fine glitter. They looked like really expensive ornaments and we received lots of compliments. Somehow when we moved from Texas our much loved ornaments got left behind. We had a weeks worth of the fireplace, cocoa , much loved glitter and laughing. (We used all of it.) I think it would be fun to do this again but give the ornaments to a relief fund or organization for the victims of Sandy.We were in her path but did not receive the devastation that a lot of families did. PS. I love you site.
