Over on my other blog I get a lot lot lot of questions from overseas readers (I’m in the US, so “overseas” meaning “not in the US”) about where to find supplies. Recently I had a reader from South America contact me for tips on finding supplies so she could stock up while visiting the US. Please know I so very much appreciate that we have these big craft stores in every city, large and small, filled with cake and cookie decorating supplies. And for that which isn’t in the craft store, we have cake decorating stores. And a kajillion US-based online resources with minimal shipping costs for the rest. So when I was sent a link to a cake and cookie decorating resource in the UK, I had to check it out for all you crafty folks over there, knowing that finding supplies is the trickiest part of edible crafting for much of the world.
I can’t give firsthand ordering experience, but based on the web site, I’m pretty impressed. The Cake Decorating Company is located in Nottingham, UK and they ship throughout the UK quickly and inexpensively, it seems. They have everything you need: edible icing sheets, cookie cutters, chocolate and candy making supplies, sprinkles and sanding sugar, baking cups, and so much more. They have all the hard-to-find, not-even-in-craft-store items that I use: The Americolor Gourmet Writers, Merckens candy melts and lollipop sticks for cake pops, Americolor soft gel pastes (the best food coloring ever)… The FooDoodler fine line pens that I use and love are not available yet, but the shop notes that if buyers want these, they will do their best to get them. Pretty impressive and in tune to their clientele. The items I listed are some of the most coveted and difficult to find outside the US. So thumbs up on this resource, UK crafters. Find them HERE. If anyone orders, feel free to let me know how it goes!
